Durham Central Market

The graphic slogan

The challenge for Durham Central Market's identity was to convey the advantages of a smart, slick new food store and generate community interest, while not alienating the more small-town-local-food tendencies of the Durham area consumers. Additionally, it needed to convey something about the locality, without yet knowing where the store would actually be located.

Durham Central Market

A trifold brochure incorporates many of the design elements

The identity is three-color and consists of a relatively flexible logo depicting a corner of a brick building (a style common to the proposed location of the co-op) wrapped in a sweet-potato vine.

The website is built on Drupal, an open-source content management system, and serves as a source for news and events surrounding the co-op and it's pre-launch membership drive.
